We are pleased to welcome you to our site! Orthodontics is the dental specialty of correcting abnormally aligned or positioned teeth and/or jaws. Orthodontists have received an additional two to three years of specialized training after dental school in the proper way to align the teeth and jaws.
A child's first visit to the orthodontist can be as early as seven years of age; however, malocclusions (bad bites and crooked teeth) can be improved at any age. Adult orthodontics is becoming a larger part of our orthodontic practice each year, representing over 25% of our patients.
Our goal is to provide our patients with orthodontic treatment of the highest quality in a caring and friendly manner. Our staff is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in achieving that goal. Please feel free to ask questions. The more you know and understand about your treatment, the better we will be able to work together to provide you with a healthy and beautiful smile. We welcome and encourage parents to come back to the treatment area with our younger patients. We feel this keeps the lines of communication open and parents involved in the child’s treatment.
The initial appointment is a clinical examination to determine orthodontic treatment needs. This is a courtesy visit and no fee is charged. If you cannot keep an appointment, please give us 24 hours' notice so that someone else may use that time.
Once treatment gets started, there are two appointment types, allowing for the maximum number of "after school" appointments. Construction appointments (such as having your braces initially placed) require more doctor, set-up and finish time. These appointments typically last about 30-60 minutes and are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Maintenance appointments (such as having your braces adjusted) are shorter appointments lasting about 15-30 minutes. These appointments are scheduled between 8:00-9:00 a.m. and 2:30-5:00 p.m.
We pride ourselves on running an on-time appointment schedule for all our patients. You should not have to wait more than 15 minutes to be called for your appointment. Please notify the receptionist if you wait more than 15 minutes. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be required to reschedule your appointment.
Patients should have their teeth cleaned and all cavities restored before orthodontic treatment begins. We recommend and encourage regular visits to your general dentist throughout orthodontic treatment.
Each Patient Is Unique
We firmly believe that no two patients are the same. We collect comprehensive diagnostic records to include digital x-rays of the teeth and jaws, digital pictures, and dental impressions to create stone models of the patient's teeth. Our doctors thoroughly evaluate this information before formulating a treatment plan customized to each patient's individual needs.
Once the orthodontic treatment plan has been formulated, the fee will be assigned. Fees vary based on the severity of the malocclusion, length of treatment, and appliances needed. Our office offers several financial arrangements to help make treatment more affordable, including a no-down-payment option. For your convenience, VISA, MasterCard, Novus-Discover and American Express credit cards are accepted.
As a service to you, our office will submit charges for orthodontic treatment to your insurance company. Please bring insurance information with you at your initial visit.
